Writer's Block: Health Care

Is health care a right or a privilege to you?

Well, as a person without health care of any sort, I have to say "neither." If I get sick or hurt, then I just have to hope I get better. I'm pretty sur that I broke my toe this summer, but I couln't afford to have it looked at, so I guess I'll never know. It's scary when i think about it, how precarious my situation is, but I don't have a job that comes with insurance, and I can't afford to but my own. Shit, I can barely afforn to eat and ride the bus.

I've got all my maps and directions and whatnots. I'll be getting off the bus in Salina, Kansas at 3:20 am on the 27th of june and hitching from there. I've got way more gear than I did last year.

Well, I'm back on the bus tomorrow. I guess I'll be hopping off around topeka, KS. I'm kinda nervous about this trip, as I haven't really got a map or anything. I've got no map, no spoon, and no tooth brush! I left mine at my grandparents. I've been using a nail brush and a washcloth. It's rediculous. I've got about three of the damn things at home, and I only brought one here!

The new Transformers movie makes me think of Cory Camble, and who should post a comment on my journal, but the very same gentleman. I had no idea he even looked here anymore.

God, I'm so glad I live at the Farm! All I've done since I got here is visit family, eat bad food, watch tv and played video games. Oh, and YouTube. That shit is so addictive.

I'm going to rainbow gathering! Bailin sent me the location news, and it's about half a state away from my bus route. I'll be in Kansas City, MO the evening of the 26th. I'm going to play around google maps and figure out exactly where to get off the bus.

I went to my grandparents yesterday. It was so wonderful to see my family again, it was like being a child again. But, they're moving. They're gonna live in a retirement community. I never realized that they are completely loaded. The place they're moving into is four grand a month, and they can cover that, no problem. I also learned that I have a trust fund worth about 18 thousand. That wouldn't be much at a state college or anything, but it would get me a fair distance at PC. Oh, and my grandma has got a bunch of savings bonds for me. We're not even going to talk enheritance (we don't talk about such things, death is not polite).

My dad took me on a group Bike ride with the local motorcycle club today. We went over a 100 miles. It was pretty fun, but it reminded me how different life and the people are here. At the picnic afterward, the only vegitarian food was the buns.

Woo! I just bought my ticket to go east.

I'll be leaving Olympia on June 12th at 8:30 am, and arriving in Annapolis, MD on June 15th at 12:01 pm. After my visit, I will be leaving Annapolis, MD on the 25th of June at 8:40 pm, and arriving in Olympia on the 28th of June at 910 pm.

I'll miss the Gathering.

I had tons of fun with KC on Tuesday. Went on an illegal bikeride up to Merymere in the dark. I was on KC's new extra bike, which is a mountain bike. 'Twas awesome. I was going up and down hills, over rocks and exposed roots that KC had to stop for. And the food was, as always when I hang out witrh KC, fantastic./ Quinoa with red sauce and fresh nettles.

Bulk good came in today. I now have oats, flour, peanut butter, and Phish Food.
